I bought this book to help myself learn Spanish, and it serves very well because the vocabulary, while evocative, is also fairly simple. I’m not very good at criticising this book because it’s so full of warmth and nostalgia for me.

I also like that I don’t really know some of the characters well, but feel like the less important ones are gonna be showing up later on down the road. Well, all of us except Jadis. But I am so glad I re-read this again – aside from giving it another star, It is a little darker than the other Narnia books, but it still has the old sweet scent of Narnia – but a wilder, tangier scent – it feels different from all the other Narnia books.


I read this whole series when I was 12 years and was so happy to find it in Spanish now!

This is a good introduction to the series. They decide to explore the attic connecting the houses, but take the wrong door and surprise Digory’s Uncle Andrew in his study. The magician was quite the monstrous uncle.
